On-Campus Canvas Training from Instructure

Join us for a face-to-face training session by Instructure. Each session offers a unique perspective on Canvas features, tools, and uses. Read below to learn about what each session has to offer.

Session: Canvas 101


  • 8/7 @ 9:00am
  • 8/8 @ 9:00am

This session is intended for those faculty who want to learn the basics of Canvas, and who would like to begin to build a course in Canvas. We will highlight how to build a course and share best practices.

Session: Quizzes and Question Banks

This session is intended for those faculty who want to learn how to use the Quizzing tool in Canvas for homework, assessment, quizzes, and/or tests.

Session: Assignments and Grading

This session is intended for those faculty interested in learning how to use the Canvas Assignment tool, it's features and settings. We will also review the grading process and settings for the new gradebook.

This session is designed for those participants who want a deeper view into course design and content structure best practices, as well as maximizing mobile and web student experience. This session will also include tools for using Canvas to create collaborative spaces and group projects.

New User Training covers the basics of TurningPoint that every user needs to get up and running with the software.  Attendees will learn how to set up Response Options, Create a Presentation, Run a Presentation, Save a Session and Generate Reports.

Advanced Training is generally a shorter session that builds on the New User Training.  It’s more interactive and conversational.  Attendees will learn how to use additional question slides including Comparative Links, Convert to Picture, Demographic Comparison and Competitions.  Strategies for utilizing Anywhere Polling will also be discussed.


Canvas OnLine Live Training (Access Training)

Canvas Training offerings are divided into seven unique series. Whether new to Canvas or an established veteran, you can find training offerings to meet your needs.
