Turnitin provides instructors with the tools they need to detect plagiarism, engage students in the writing process, and provide personalized feedback. The Georgia Tech site license for Turnitin consists of two Canvas integrations - the Canvas Plagiarism Framework and the Turnitin External Tool (LTI). Both tools can be utilized when creating assignments in Canvas.
Canvas Plagiarism Framework: Fully integrated into Canvas, this option is for instructors who prefer to conduct all feedback and grading activities within Canvas and use Turnitin solely for plagiarism detection. (Note: The Turnitin Feedback Studio, which is detailed below, is not available for use within the Canvas Plagiarism Framework.)

Turnitin External Tool (LTI): When an instructor creates an assignment within Canvas, this tool will add an external link to Turnitin which allows students to upload their files directly to Turnitin. This external tool also provides instructors with full access to the Turnitin Feedback Studio, which is integrated with the Canvas Gradebook and includes tools for quick markup of student papers, written feedback, spelling and grammar checks, building and grading with rubrics, conducting peer reviews, etc.
